Retreat for a day: Yoga, laughter and transformation

    • August 27th, 2010 2:15 pm PT

Yoga teacher and Ayurvedic practitioner Hilary Kimblin knows the strength and power of aligning with your true self during chaotic times. She also appreciates the value of getting outside, laughing, and not taking yourself too seriously. To that end, she has created her lovely “Yogi for a Day” retreat, situated around a picturesque lake in Encino. Retreat participants will be taken on a journey to awaken the sacred self through outdoor yoga, Indian dance, breath work, laughter yoga and Ayurveda.

Many students are already familiar with Kimblin’s “Yoga Under the Trees” full-moon yoga hikes, outdoor yoga classes and laughter yoga workshops. Kimblin’s approach to yoga is warm and exuberant — she emphasizes that spiritual growth and fun are not mutually exclusive. Kimblin encourages her students to find physical and emotional balance and to explore their mind/heart connection – all with a smile.

The Yogi for a Day retreat will be held on Sunday, September 19th from 9-5pm at the Holy Spirit Retreat Center in Encino. The cost is $95 per person, and is open to all levels and abilities.
